WILD ROOTS FOUNDATION

A Safe Space to Flourish

Wild Roots aims to create connection for children in the UK who are vulnerable or displaced by offering safe, nurturing experiences in nature and with animals. Through time outdoors, creativity, movement and genuine animal relationships, children can find safety, joy and freedom and the space to express themselves away from the confines of an adult world—without fear, censoring or withdrawal. By experiencing the honesty, acceptance and love reflected back by nature and animals, they reconnect with themselves and others and discover moments of play where they can be authentically themselves.

Our Therapeutic Pillars

Creativity

Expressing inner worlds and processing emotions through art, animals, nature and play.

OUR VISION

Rooted in Care

We believe in the profound healing power of the natural world and animals. Wild Roots aims to create connection for children in the UK who are vulnerable or displaced by providing safe, joyful, and connective experiences where they can find safety, freedom, and belonging. Spending time outdoors and with animals lets children express themselves away from the confines of an adult world—without fear, censoring, or withdrawal—and encounter the honesty, acceptance, and love that nature reflects back to them.

Starting in the South East of England, Wild Roots is building a foundation of trauma recovery and resilience and a sanctuary where children can be authentically themselves. Our goal is to extend this work across the UK so every child has a space to reconnect, find moments of play and joy, grow, and flourish in relationship with nature and animals.
